The Museum welcomes visits by groups of school children. School parties of up to twenty can be accommodated in the Resource Centre where they can see archive film on video, play CD ROM discs and "hands on" material, all linked to the National Curriculum.

Below are some photos of school groups who have recently visited the Museum, and who have been involved with studies linked to the material on this website.

       

Bow Preparatory School, Durham

Boys from Bow Preparatory School, Durham - South Road, Durham DH1 3LS, visited the Museum on 2 March 2006. The party was shown round by Mr Paul Cooper. The boys were shown artefacts of the First World war from the Museum's collection, and were allowed to handle them. Some photos taken of this visit are shown below.

The Catterick Detachment of the Army Cadet Force

A group of cadets from the Catterick Detachment of the Army cadet Force visited the Museum on 28 February 2006. The party was shown round by Mr Paul Cooper. The cadets were shown artefacts of the First World war from the Museum's collection, and were allowed to handle them. Some photos taken of this visit are shown below.

Risedale Community College

The Risedale Community College - Hipswell, Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire DL9 4BD, visited the Museum on 28 November 2005. A party of 19 boys and 10 girls, with their Teacher Miss Jen Edwards, were shown round by Mr Paul Cooper. The party were shown artefacts of the First World war from the Museum's collection, and were allowed to handle them. Some photos taken of this visit are shown below.

Kirkbymoorside County Primary School

The Kirkbymoorside County Primary Scool - Westfields, Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire YO62 6AG , visited the Museum on 30 November 2005. A party of 9 boys and 9 girls, with their Teacher Mr I Taylor, were shown round by Mr Paul Cooper.
