Walking
with Ghosts, - Visits by the Museum to Schools |
|
||||||
Although the Museum welcomes visits by groups of school childrento the Museum itself, we are also happy to arrange to visit your school. On such visits, we will bring along artefacts of the First World War which include such things as weapons, gas masks, documents and so on. Our representative, who will be dressed in the uniform of a First World War soldier will present these items as part of a dialogue that illustrates what life was like in the trenches during that war.
Below are some photos of such visits recently made by the Museum.
Ryedale Folk Museum Event for Local
Primary Schools
On 18 July 2005 the Ryedale
Folk Museum in Hutton-le-Hole organised a one day event for primary schools
in the area. At this event, the Green Howards Museum presented its dialogue
on "Walking with Ghosts". William Oliver Watson was used as the subject
to illustrate what life was like in the trenches in the First World War.
