Colonel Currie of the 19th Foot fought in both the Crimean War, and then in the American Civil War. His commissions, one signed by Queen Victoria and the other by Abraham Lincoln (both original signatures) can be seen.

Through the Harrison Room you will find the Normanby Room, with furniture by "Mousey" Thompson. This room is used for regimental meetings and important dinners. The portrait on the right, at the end, is of General the Hon. Charles Howard KB, whose name is perpetuated in the regimental title.
