The usual starting point for a tour through the Museum starts with the Raising of the Regiment in 1688. The Museum has artefacts going back to this date, including the musket shown here.

The Victoria Crosses awarded to Private Samuel Evans in 1855 (in the Crimean War), and Lieutenant Donald S Bell, - the only English professional footballer to be awarded a VC, in 1916.
